We adopted the Relish website, built upon the Sitecore platform, which had been developed by UK Broadband's incumbent agency. Bringing the site codebase in line with best practices was our first priority, reducing the risk of penalties, which could affect performance and enhancing the base on which we would be developing.
The site speed was under performing with page load speeds sitting at 11.076secs. Following our optimisation work, this increased to 4.686secs, with the Google Page Speed score leaping from 35/100 to 80/100.
Operating primarily as an e-commerce site, the Relish website must attract, engage and retain users until they convert to customers. Aside from this, and with the challenge of a service offering that is yet to be national, prospect data capture of those outside the current coverage area is our secondary objective.
To aid this, we instigated, designed and built a coverage checker, allowing users to search for coverage by postcode. Should they not be 'in zone', the site now facilitates data capture allowing UK Broadband to ascertain interest from geographic regions whilst building a prospect database.
In terms of traffic driving activity, we support the above the line campaigns, digital advertising, email and social media campaigns through the development of engaging creative visuals, and targeted content delivering key messages.
